The study of sequences and series plays a vital role in mathematics as it helps in understanding number patterns and their applications. The CBSE 2024-2025 NCERT Class 11th syllabus covers arithmetic and geometric progressions along with key topics like the nth term sum of n terms arithmetic mean geometric mean and special series. To strengthen conceptual clarity multiple-choice questions are provided for practice. Solving these MCQs regularly improves problem-solving skills and enhances logical thinking. A strong grip on sequences and series is essential for board exams as well as competitive exams as it develops a structured approach to tackling mathematical challenges

  1. Choice (b) is correct.
We know that in case of distinct numbers A.M. > G.M
    x + y /2 > √xy, y + z/2 >√yz and z + x /2 >√zx
Multiplying above three inequalities, we get
    x + y/2 . y + z /2 . z + x /2 >√xy. √yz. √zx
    ⇒ (x + y) (y + z) (z + x) >8xyz
