We should conserve forests because they are essential for us in the following terms:
1. Forest provide us with oxygen, they cause rainfall.
2. Forest prevents soil erosion.
3. Plants are dependent on animals and birds for their pollination and seed dispersal.
4. Forests provide us with various medicines.
We should conserve forests and wildlife because:
Various forest products are used as raw materials in industries.
Forests provide us various medicines.
Forest provide us oxygen, they cause rain fall.
Forest prevents soil erosion.
We should conserve forests and wildlife to preserve the biodiversity (range of
different life-forms) so as to avoid the loss of ecological stability. A large number of
tribes are the habitants in and around the forests. If the forests are not conserved, then it
may affect these habitants. Without proper management of forest and wildlife, the
quality of soil, the water sources, and even the amount of rainfall may be affected.
Without forest and wildlife, life would become impossible for human beings.
We should conserve forests and wild life because –
(i) Forests are biodiversity hotspots i.e. different types of species of animals and plants are present in forests.
(ii) Forests provide wood and other raw materials for industries like paper industry, lac industry etc.
(iii) Forests help in maintaining ecological balance.
(iv) Forests provide different species of plants and animals for medicinal use.
(v) For eg. Quinine is a drug used for the treatment of malaria and it is obtained from bark of cinchona trees.
(vi) Forests prevent soil erosion.
(vii) Forests provide natural habitat for wild animals and birds and also for tribe people.
