My model shows the different landforms formed by underground water in limestone regions. It includes a limestone rock, a cave, stalactites, stalagmites, a pillar (column), an underground river, a spring, and a sinkhole (doline).
Underground water containing weak carbonic acid slowly dissolves limestone rocks over thousands of years, forming caves. Inside the caves, mineral-rich water drips from the roof and forms stalactites, while the minerals deposited on the cave floor form stalagmites. When a stalactite and a stalagmite grow and join together, they form a pillar (column).
