Khetaram lives in a region where famine is a regular way of life. Even in a good harvest year, his small yield of bajra was never sufficient to provide food for five people. Becoming a Gramin Dak Sewak gave him an assured monthly livelihood, saving his entire household from severe starvation and extreme poverty.
