  1. Parents or grandparents might recall rivers and lakes being cleaner, with clear water and more fish. Children played near them and people bathed or washed clothes. Today, many such water bodies are polluted, dried up or filled with garbage. This change is due to urbanisation, plastic waste, sewage dumping and reduced rainfall. Reviving them needs effort in cleaning and protecting local water sources.
