  1. The mustard seed activity shows how slopes guide flow. Similarly, rivers in India flow based on mountain slopes. Rivers originating on the western side of the Western Ghats usually flow into the Arabian Sea. Those on the eastern side flow into the Bay of Bengal. The land’s natural slope and shape help decide the direction of river flow, just as it did for mustard seeds.
