Prime numbers are positive integers greater than 1 that have only two factors 1 and the number itself. They cannot be divided evenly by any other number. Examples include 2 3 5 7 11 and 13. 2 is the only even prime number all others are odd.

Prime numbers are all numbers greater than 1 and have exactly two factors: one and the number itself. All the prime numbers between 1 and 10 are 2, 3, 5, and 7. And since there are four such numbers, the right answer is 4.
