Solving problems related to straight lines is an important part of coordinate geometry. The CBSE 2024-2025 NCERT Class 11th syllabus covers this chapter to help students understand key topics like the slope of a line different forms of line equations conditions for parallel and perpendicular lines and the shortest distance between a point and a line. Multiple-choice questions are included to test students’ conceptual clarity and problem-solving abilities. Practicing these MCQs regularly improves accuracy and logical reasoning skills. A strong foundation in straight lines is essential for excelling in mathematics as it plays a significant role in higher studies and competitive exams where coordinate geometry is a crucial topic for scoring well.

  1. Choice (b) is correct.
    Slope of the line AB = m = y₂ – y ₁/x₂ – x₁= -7 – 6/9 – 3 = -13/6
Slope of the line perpendicular to line AB = -1/m = 6/13
