  1. The Palk Strait is a narrow strait that lies between the southern tip of India and the northern part of Sri Lanka. It connects the Bay of Bengal in the northeast with the Gulf of Mannar of the Laccadive Sea in the southwest. Therefore, the countries that the Palk Strait lies between are India to the north and Sri Lanka to the south.
