A person suffering from nearsightedness (myopia) can see nearby objects clearly but has difficulty seeing distant objects. Myopia occurs when light entering the eye is focused in front of the retina, causing distant objects to appear blurred. This condition can usually be corrected with glasses, contact lenses, or refractive surgery.
