The mid-brain and hind-brain control a set of muscle movements over which we do not have conscious thinking control. Many involuntary actions, such as those related to muscle movements, are regulated by these brain regions.

Involuntary actions, including blood pressure, salivation, and vomiting, are controlled by the medulla in the hind-brain.

The sensation of feeling full, associated with hunger, involves a separate part of the fore-brain. This center is responsible for signaling when we have eaten enough, distinct from the sensory experiences of seeing or hearing.

A decision is made in the fore-brain based on the interpreted sensory information. The information is then passed on to the motor areas, which control the movement of voluntary muscles, such as leg muscles.

In the areas of association in the fore-brain, sensory information is interpreted by combining it with information from other receptors and with data already stored in the brain.
